Secretary of Department of Work & Pensions visits Bristol Launchpad to explore workforce partnerships

The recent visit of Peter Schofield, the Secretary of The Department of Work & Pensions (DWP), to Partners in Bristol鈥檚 Bristol Launchpad at The Galleries, marks a significant exploration into workforce partnerships and strategies for managing them effectively.

Mr Schofield鈥檚 visit was a part of his wider travels, looking at how The Department for Work and Pensions manage its partnerships. The visit to The Bristol Launchpad was focused on the topics of the older workforce (50+), as well as youth unemployment. 聽

Partners in Bristol鈥檚 鈥極lder Workers Employability’ course addresses the challenges faced by the older workforce when re-entering the working world. This initiative provides a supportive environment where participants can rebuild confidence while defining their transferable skills. The course curriculum covers essential topics such as leveraging internet resources for job hunting, crafting an effective CV and mastering interview techniques.

During his visit, Mr Schofield embarked on a tour of the facilities at the Bristol Launchpad, immersing himself in conversations with career coaches and learners alike. He also engaged with participants enrolled in the Partners in Bristol鈥檚 鈥業T User Fundamentals鈥 course.
